The Durango Wine Experience is a non-profit organization located in Durango, Colorado. It produces a weekend-long wine tasting event showcasing seminars, craft beverage makers, and food pairings between showcased local restaurants and featured beverages. For over 10 years, all proceeds have been donated to various chosen local Durango charities and non-profit organizations.

Our Role

As a volunteer board member since 2018, and Marketing Chair for 2020-2021, I help direct marketing and advertising decisions to increase vendor participation and overall attendance to the event.

In 2020 I built new social pages for the Durango Wine Experience (Instagram and Facebook), and managed all aspects of the social media marketing, including content creation, follower interaction, increasing new follower growth, and comment interactions/moderation.

Additionally, I created a full marketing plan for the event, encompassing all marketing channels and timelines; helped guide ad buys and placements; provided creative and brand direction; created organizational talking points and guided press release development; and provided full marketing direction on a volunteer basis.

As a result of the 2020 pandemic, the Durango Wine Experience was forced to cancel. During this time I provided guidance on crisis communications, including drafting organizational press releases and statements.
